LINEN FABRIC - "NORTHERN SILK" - CURRENCY OF ANCIENT TIMES…

LINEN FABRIC - "NORTHERN SILK" - CURRENCY OF ANCIENT TIMES…

Linen fabric is one of the few types of fabrics that is still 100% made from natural and organic raw materials. The tradition of using linen fabric in everyday life has come to us since ancient times. In ancient Egypt, linen clothes were a sign of luxury and emphasized the special status of their owner. This is not without reason, linen has exceptional advantages in everyday use over silk, wool and cotton. This is determined by the special chemical composition and structure of flax fibers, which provide excellent hygienic and general practical properties of the fabric: high hygroscopicity, easy washing, low electrification, resistance to aging, friction and wrinkling, and as a consequence its longevity.

Linen bed linen

The use of linen bedding has a beneficial effect on all possible aspects of human life. For example, linen material can protect a person from neurosis, depression and minor nervous system disorders.Due to the pronounced texture of the linen fabric, a full body massage is performed and blood circulation is improved while sleeping on the bedding. At the same time, linen from the Belarusian manufacturer is soft and pleasant for the body. And these are not all the beneficial properties of flax: it is also antibacterial! It has been proven that no fungus and bacterium can coexist with flax fibers.

Tablecloths

With a beautifully decorated table, even the most modest meal will be happy and enjoyable. Traditionally, the tablecloth was considered a sign of wealth and prosperity, but the intense speed of development in the 21st century with the longing for artificial materials and minimalism has led to the fact that tablecloths have been forgotten for some time. They were replaced by plastic cutlery racks. But the tablecloth has survived the boundaries of centuries could not just sink into oblivion. The return to a natural, environmentally friendly, traditional way of production and consumption has led us to the tradition of decorating homes with organic materials.
A family lunch, a festive dinner or just a meeting of friends, if the table is decorated with a beautiful natural linen tablecloth it will look respectable, elegant and traditional.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Washing, drying, ironing Linen fabrics, and linen products:

– It is important to always remember that a lightweight, eco-friendly, and such a pleasant linen can lose all its properties if washed with powder, which contains aggressive components. It is best to use special powders to delicately wash linen fabrics and products made from them.

– Also, when washing linen by machine, you should use the “delicate wash” mode, or any other similar mode.  It should be noted that the most terrible enemy of linen is chlorine. From it, flax fibers lose their strength and linen products become unusable. That is why only oxygenbleach can be used to wash white linen clothes.  Do not use bleach for colored linen products!

– All things made of linen colored (dyed) fabrics require careful treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to wash colored (dyed) linen fabrics using powders for delicate washing, or those powders that contain colored granules. These granules help preserve the color of things. After washing, the linen must be thoroughly rinsed, making sure that there is no detergent left in the fabric. If you add a little vinegar to the water when rinsing linen, the original color of the linen fabric will last longer!

– For washing colored (dyed) flax, choose a low temperature setting. The water temperature should not exceed 30-40 degrees. Otherwise, the flax will shrink strongly, and the paint may be washed out of its fibers. Linen is very sensitive to stain removers. Before using the stain remover check the reaction of the fabric to it. Do not add stain remover to the washing machine!
Linen products should not be wrung out.
It is best, to let them drain, straighten, and hang to dry in a well-ventilated place, while avoiding direct sunlight.

– In order to iron the fabric, you need to use an iron with a humidifier, or use special hand humidifiers -“sprinklers”. The iron should be as hot as possible. Do not iron the fabric until it is completely dry.
